Intended as a second home for a young family with big plans to host family and friends, the house combines a cool-house vibe with family-friendly functionality. The project aimed to take a contemporary beach house ambiance while tying in the client’s sophisticated and edgy style. To solve this, we intentionally used typical beach house features, such as white oak floors, white walls, an open floor plan, and soaring ceilings. When it came to the furnishings, we added a texture-rich, simple color scheme consisting of black and white. Pops of color were introduced at the lower level. Certain  rooms boast lights and airy aesthetics, while others exude a dark and moody ambiance. All are unified by rich, luxurious materials that withstand cocktail spills or juice box mishaps.
